Mini blog posts with Posterous (but not Shortmail, sadly)

Sometimes it can seem a chore to write a blog post. You’ve got to enter your admin panel, for starters, which can be difficult if you’re at work or away from your home computer.

Then, it’s easy to write too much.

Starting today, I’ll be trying to write some short posts using Posterous, a web service that you can post to by email. Posterous can then pass your post on to a WordPress blog or to a service like Tumblr or Flickr.

I’ve also wanted to experiment with sending posts using the Shortmail service, which limits emails to 500 characters. But the email signature Shortmail automatically appends prevents this Email > Posterous > Blog setup from working.

This is the first mini post right here. Stay tuned.
